Our Nature: Cascade Ojochal

This is one of our favourite spots in Ojochal. Ojochal’s Cascade is a small cascade placed literally in the backyard of the López Meza’s home, a local family.

It is located 10 min away from Yabá Chiguí Lodge. Once you arrive and pay the entrance fee (only cash), you will find a set of steps that pass through their lush garden and end in this secret spot. Just a short 2 - 3 min walk.

It is perfect for families with young children since the access is effortless, the main pool is relatively shallow, and there is a couple of big boulders great for sitting and having a snack. It is also great for those looking for an off-the-beaten-path waterfall since you will have the fall just for yourself most of the time.

Also, and most importantly, the water is refreshing, clean, and you are surrounded by beautiful rainforest.

Tip: during the rainy season, it is best to plan your visit during the morning, before the rain comes in. Being a natural river course, it is better to ask for local advice regarding weather conditions and the current water level.
